Our Attendance Stats
THE SCHOOL WILL ALWAYS STRIVE TO CONTINUE IT’S HIGH EXPECTATION FOR GOOD PUNCTUALITY AND EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE …
Our current whole school figure is 95.7% which is a step in the right direction towards the national average of 96.7% Keep up the good work everyone!
As you know, we are keeping a very close eye on attendance as it is crucial for progress, achievement and secure friendships. Every week we calculate which class has the most children attending every day and the classes are tracking their own rating.
Huge congratulations must go to BIRCH class who are the current Attendance Champions. SYCAMORE are hot in pursuit and have a desire to win this year’s championship but at this time in the year it is a very open field and any class could be in with the chance of the Summer term celebration afternoon.
ABSENT FROM SCHOOL?
Parents and carers should telephone the School Office on the first day of absence and send a note when the child returns to school. Parents wishing to take their child out of school during the day, for unavoidable medical appointments, must inform us beforehand. If a child is having many days of illness, the school could request medical evidence before authorising the absence. A proforma is available from the school office for parents to take to the doctors or pharmacist to complete – just ask.
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT WE ARE INFORMED WHEN CHILDREN ARE GOING TO BE ABSENT FROM SCHOOL …
Parents wishing to take their child out of school for other reasons during term-time must complete a request form (available from the School Office) and return it to the Headteacher for consideration. The Headteacher will not authorise term-time holidays because of the disruption they cause to children’s education. The Local Authority has advised all schools that such holidays are unacceptable.
